Healthy Life Summit

March 24th, 2013

If you have time, you should check out the Healthy Life Summit at the Village Green Network here: http://villagegreennetwork.com/healthy-life-summit/

Today is day one of the conference and the presentations will be available to stream for 24 hours.  I’ve been listening to talks by Joel Salatin, Liz Wolfe and Diane Sanfilippo so far.  I’m seriously considering trying the 21-Day Sugar Detox program now.  You may find something that you like during the conference as well.

Time for Change

March 24th, 2013

At the lake.

It’s been a crazy time lately.  I’ve been looking to make a change for a while now and finally seem to be getting things to fall into place.

I’m planning the garden and getting seeds started, but the weather is not really cooperating with my plans.  I’m hoping that it won’t be too much longer before they can be planted outside or I may run into some trouble.  Our short growing season means that a delay will make the season even shorter.

I found a great company to buy heirloom seeds from.  Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds are available through www.rareseeds.com.  I picked a pretty good variety that you can see here.

Dog Tired

November 4th, 2012

Samantha resting on the ride home after a day of new sights and smells.

Nothing makes our dog happier than a car ride to a new place.  She’s doesn’t care where she’s going, but once there it’s all about the sights and smells and soaking it all in before it’s time to head back home.  When the day ends like this, we know she’s had a fun time!

A Piece of History

August 9th, 2011

Seats from Fenway Park

Baseball fans can own a piece of ballpark history.   For a limited time you are able to purchase actual seats from Fenway Park.  The seats were taken out and replaced during improvements this year. These particular seats are from lower Right Field.

Are they worth it?  Well, at $795 a pair they’re a little pricey but throw in a big screen t.v., some Cracker Jacks, grilled dogs and the beer of your choice and you’ve got a great way to watch the game for seasons to come.

New England Summer

August 2nd, 2011

Great time of year to enjoy what’s local and in season.  We had an indoor clambake with steamers, lobster, crab, corn on the cob, sausage and onions.  We followed it up much later in the day with some angel food cake, vanilla bean ice cream and some fresh strawberries and blueberries.
